Communications - Summary
COMMUNICATION
Communication happens primarily in the Connect App for Teams and Communities.
1. Posts (News Feed)
Posts are perfect for one-way announcements where you need visibility without the noise of a group chat. They appear on the "Feed" of everyone in that group.
Standard Posts (Team & Community Level)
Admins of a specific Team or Community can create posts relevant to that group (e.g., "Great win today!" or "Canteen roster attached").
Hierarchical Posts (Organisation Level)
For Organisation Admins only. This feature allows you to broadcast a message from the top down, ensuring consistency across the club.
- Targeted Reach: You can select specific Teams or Communities to receive the post (e.g., select all Junior Teams, or just the Committee Community).
- Flexible Identity: You can choose how you appear to the readers:
- Post as Yourself: Good for personal notes from the President.
- Post as Organisation: The post appears with the Club Name and Logo. Ideal for official announcements like weather cancellations or policy updates.

2. Chat & Messaging Channels
Unlike Posts, Chat is for real-time, two-way discussion. However, to ensure safety and control, Messaging is not active by default.
Enabling Chat Channels
When setting up a Team or Community, the Admin must go to Messaging Settings to choose which predefined channels to enable. You can toggle the following dedicated channels:
- Everyone
- Staff
- Players.
- Parents/Guardians
You can also Enable or Disable Private Messaging (Direct Messages) in these settings. Disable this if you want to force all communication to happen in the open group channels.
Note: If a Parent/Guardian is linked to a Player, they are automatically added (in the background) to any chat channel the player is in to ensure parents have full visibility of team communications and can monitor their child's interactions without needing to be manually invited to every chat.
