Message Channels

What are Channels?

Channels are shared spaces where users can send and receive messages with groups of people. Unlike direct messages, channels are organised by user type or by custom groups, making it easy to communicate with specific parts of your team or community.


By default, the following Channels are available:

  • Everybody – all users can see this channel.
  • Staff – only staff members can see this channel.
  • Players – only players can see this channel.
  • Parents/Guardians – only parents/guardians can see this channel.


For example: A Player will only see Everybody and Players channels.


Custom Channels

If you’d like to create your own Channels (e.g., “Leadership Group” or “Volunteers”), you’ll need to enable Groups in Message Settings.


  1. Go to Message Settings and make sure Groups is enabled.
  2. Go to Groups in the menu bar, create a new Group and add users.

Once created, the Group will immediately appear as a Channel in Messages. If you don’t see it right away, try refreshing.
