How To Setup Family Connect

What is Family Connect?

Family Connect is a process allowing for parental oversight of child interactions across the Rookie Me tech ecosystem. By creating a Family Connect Account, parents and guardians can have access to what their child sees on Rookie Me Connect. This child safety initiative by Rookie Me can aid parents and guardians to mitigate their child from harm.

How to setup Family Connect?

There are three possible flows to add someone to your family, but firstly, you the parent must create your account with your own email address and then create your family.

1. YOU THE PARENT when logged into hub can select the profile icon in the top right of the screen.

3. YOU THE PARENT from the subsequent dropdown you select FAMILY CONNECT.

4. YOU THE PARENT select Create Family.

5. YOU THE PARENT create your family name and select Create.

6. YOU THE PARENT have now successfully created your family. To add a family member select ADD MEMBER

7. YOU THE PARENT select Add Child or Add Parent/Guardian depending on who you are adding. In this instance we will select Add Child.

Once you have created your family there are one of three ways to add your child / another parent to your family. Select the situation below that applies to you.

a) Your Child already has a Rookie Me Account (GO TO STEP 8 BELOW).

b) Your child DOES NOT have a Rookie Me Account but DOES have their own personal email (GO TO STEP 15 BELOW).

c) Your child DOES NOT have a Rookie Me Account and DOES NOT have their own email (GO TO STEP 18 BELOW)

YOUR CHILD HAS A ROOKIE ME ACCOUNT ALREADY

8. Because your child has already created their account back on step 1, select Yes on the below screen.

9. The code in this instance being MNKL4611 is the join code for your family that you can share with YOUR CHILD

10. YOUR CHILD now selects performs steps 2 through to and including step 4.
11. YOUR CHILD selects Join Family

12. YOUR CHILD then enters the Family Join Code as show below as a Child and selects Join Family

13. YOUR CHILD now has a pending request to your family. YOUR CHILD's tasks are complete for Family Connect.

14. YOU THE PARENT should refresh the page on Hub and you will see your child as a pending family member. Approve the request to ass your child to your family. You are now complete.

YOUR CHILD DOES NOT HAVE A ROOKIE ME ACCOUNT BUT DOES HAVE THEIR OWN EMAIL ADDRESS

15. YOU THE PARENT select no

16. YOU THE PARENT select yes, invite your child

17. Invite your child via their personal email address, your child then follows the same flow to create their account.

Your child will be added automatically to the family.

YOUR CHILD DOES NOT HAVE A ROOKIE ME ACCOUNT AND DOES NOT HAVE THEIR OWN EMAIL ADDRESS

18. Because your child does not have their own email address select no.

19. Because your child does not have their own email address select no.

20. Fill out all of the details on the below page, add your child's name in the field with NO SPACES. A verification email will be sent to your account to verify this new email you have created.

• Take note of the email address, in this instance rm+rookieme@rookieme.com and the password you used to create the account. Your child will need to use these details if they want to login to their account on Rookie Me Hub or Rookie Me Connect.
