Reports - Explaining the Optimal Lineup Report
What is the 'Optimal Lineup Report'?
The purpose of the optimal lineup report is to provide coach/es with a general understanding of the lineup that will most likely lead to the greatest effectiveness. Coaches are able to select from a range of options, as shown in the demonstration data below:
How is the optimal lineups report produced?
The report is based off the collection of plus minus data captured in Rookie Me Play for each completed event. A user can then take this example data and apply it to their starting lineup.
Future functionality will allow the user to manipulate the starting position of these players on a Rookie Me Play interface. The user will then also be able to apply the lineup to any upcoming match via the 'Assign to Game' button.
Other stats beyond just scoring will also be made available to coaches, as a plus minus of particular stat may be more important for a particular zone or position on the playing arena than scoring.
See an example below of the first iteration of the optimal lineup report:
In figure 1, the coach has decided 'Mid Zone' is the most important area of the playing arena for their side, so the best six players (based on plus minus) who have played in that zone for the matches selected are chosen first. These six players are then removed from subsequent analysis to remove the possibility of duplication. The process is then repeated for the remaining zones/positions.
