Reports - Explaining Stat Density Report
What is 'Stat Density'?
This report allows the user to understand when particular stats are occurring throughout a match.
For example, a user may find that they concede a vast majority of their goals in the final 80% of their games. This may create conversations amongst players and coaches allowing them to address why this issue may be occurring, hopefully leading to better performance.
How is the stat density report produced?
The stat density report pulls in all stats collected by the user (or a third party provider) for every game completed within a given season. The stats are then timestamped relative (using %) to the duration of the given game or period within which the stat occurred. Stats are currently displayed as counts. An example is provided below to better explain what you may be looking at.
Here in figure 1, the user is looking at goals across the entire season for their team and the opposition. The user can clearly see that they score most of their goals during the first 11-20% of their match duration. They can then see that they have conceded more goals against their opposition in the 31-35th and 41-50th percent time windows (i.e. close to halftime) of their matches.
Important note: when viewing entire season or all periods of a given game, there will be occasions when stats collected in a given period will not line up perfectly with the timeline due to some quarters lasting longer or being shorter than others. For example, a stat collected right on the start of the second half may be appear prior to the 50% mark of the timeline if the second half lasts a lot longer than the first half.
