Explaining the Rookie Me Environment Score
The Rookie Me Environment Score [RMES] is currently in Beta release. We will be adding further metrics to the RMES over the ensuing months.
Rationale:
- The value of positive and inclusive environments in community sport has been well researched and proven.
- Positive and inclusive environments lead to improved player, coach and volunteer retention.
- A positive culture, however, is difficult to quantify and measure.
- In order to properly evaluate the environment of a team / club, multiple criteria should be collected and analysed.
- Rookie Me Play gathers a range of game-day metrics that enable us to quantify the "positivity" of game-day environments.
- The Rookie Me Environment Score (RMES) is an evaluation tool for leagues/associations and clubs to gain objective insights into the environments that administrators, coaches, volunteers and players create.
What is a "good environment"?:
Programs, literature reviews and customer feedback identify many aspects of a junior community sports event. Some of these include:
- Integrity
- Fairness
- Inclusion
- Personal Development
- Fun
- Respect
- Playing Fair
- Safety
- health
- Bring Your Best
- Giving Back
RMES - Beta Release:
